This season has been frustrating, especially during a long wet, cold winter with our runners few and far between. Even though we only had 45 winners for the season, we have achieved my first French winner with Snow Leopardess at Auteuil back in September and broken our Aintree duck with a fantastic win from Bentelimar! Bestwork has gained the honour of winning most horse with 5, closely followed by Midnight Shot on 4 and Western Miller with 3. Hammersly Lake is our highest rated horse. Pete The Feat has been a star again, winning 2 at his beloved Sandown. Aunty Ann was my 500th winner and Fly Home Harry my 501st, wearing the same colours and at the same racecourse as my first ever winner as a trainer. Ballydine has returned from injury with a win in the valuable Masters Chase at Sandown and Vivas has been extremely consistent in competitive handicap hurdles. We have some very exciting novice hurdlers such as Louse Talk, Just Your Type, Just Don’t Ask, Jet Set and Lisdoonvarna Lad to look forward to next season. The two mares, Treackle Tart and Castafiore continue to improve over hurdles and Nightfly has taken well to fences.
