As a general rule we are very quiet as not many horses are left in work now as most of them are enjoying their summer break.
Last week we only had 6 runners but 4 returned home in glory! Bestwork has finally got his act together and won well on his third start over fences, there should be plenty more opportunities for him over the coming months now the penny has dropped. Midnight Shot was given an excellent ride by Jordan to win a novice chase at Towcester, he is now 2 from 2 over fences and has beaten some useful rivals.
Hepijeu finally got his head back in front at Huntingdon, he had struggled since going up the handicap but has steadily been dropping over the past 12 months and the ground has come good for him and he will be a fun horse over the summer months.
Kilfinichen Bay is always consistent and notched up his 11th career success at Fontwell under an well timed ride by Jordan to catch Keltus on the line. Fontwell is not the easiest track to ride as a jockey as it is a figure of eight but Jordan did well to get Kilfinichen up on the line in the rain softened ground.
I was busy at the sales at Goffs UK and have returned home with a nice bunch of horses to have some fun with this season:
I bought a straight forward Le Fou 3 year old gelding who is being broken in by Roche. Le Fou who has sired winners such as Dolatulo, Cedre Blue and Ma Du Fou and from the same family as Nostringsattached, Streamstown and Site-Leader.
Two Irish Point to Point graduates available for sale are:
Largy Prospect - A good looking Stowaway, he won an Irish point to point at the end of April.
Some Ambition - This good looking 4 year old, by Westerner and out of an Alflora mare, he is related to an exciting hurdle Naranja, Full Of Ambition and Fioca. He finished 2nd on his most recent start in Irish Point To Points.
