GREAT DAY AT THE CRICKET
Howard and I had a great day in Cardiff yesterday watching, the very much rain delayed cricket. Alan and Hywel Peterson gave us a fantastic day and as the cricket did not start until 3.30pm we had far too much to drink. Somehow Howard and I managed to get all our correct trains home without falling asleep once!!
More importantly at the sales we managed to buy a new horse. As I was not there, Tessa Greatrex from Highflyer bought us a lovely 3yo store horse by Brier Creek. He is from the same family as Nitrat and Innox (very similar pedigree to Savant Bleu) so he should have stamina to burn. He has been bought for Matthew Roberts - a new owner for us, so the pressure is on to make sure he is a nice horse!! Tessa is the young arm of the Anthony Bromley and David Minton Highflyer team. She has been invaluable at the sales over the past few years and has helped us buy many of our better horses in the yard.
Thankfully it is back to being at home today. Plenty of catching up to do and organising of runners for the bank holiday weekend. Commemmoration Day and Ostland may well run at some stage - we will just look at the races before making any decisions.
I also need to go and look at the new house - staircase, kitchen, floor are all now in and the bathroomsd are arriving today....... I promise I will take a few photos at some stage - I have had alot of grief from people saying that no new ones have been put on the blog for ages!!
