I was delighted with Long Wave's third yesterday. He has been a disappointment over the last 12 months and had a wind operation three months ago. That has clearly worked and we can now go on hoping he achieves what he set out to do all those months ago. Noel said he galloped all the way to the line - something he has never done before. He will improve for the run and we will do what we have always wanted to do with him and step him up in trip and then eventually go chasing.
Sophie and I are off to Deauville tomorrow for the Arqana sales on Wednesday and Thursday. We are driving over first thin in the morning with Warren and Tessa Greatrex aiming to be there for the breeze-up in the afternoon. It is the top French sale for buying jumpers, and with their season just over, there will be some very smart horses for sale. Not only is it a good sale, but Deauville is a great town and Sophie is definitely looking forward to the shopping!!
While we are there, I will have a couple of runners tomorrow evening at Stratford in Brass Monkey and Azure Fly. I hope it can third time lucky with Azure Fly....... he will have earplugs and cheekpieces to help him. It will be tough for BM to follow up his win last time, but he is on great form and I am sure he will go very close. At Bath we run Perfect Outlook for the final time. Win, lose or draw this will be her final run, so I hope Willie T-D can conjur up a great run from her so she can go out with a win. Then on Wednesday we will probably run Dom Lukka at Worcester
