It has just been the four runners at Worcester on Wednesday since we last spoke. It was a lovely day with the sun shining, and lots of our owners there. If the horse came in the top three the owners were treated to a bottle of Champagne, we had three! The day started with Beyond The Clouds in the Novice Chase, he made all to finish third. He just made a few novice mistakes which probably cost him the race. Hoot At Midnight backed up her form from last time out to finish second under Charlie Deutsch. Charlie seems to have clicked with her, and we are hoping she will go one better next time. The Vollan was disappointing again, he was running a nice race and then got his nose chopped off round the bend, this gave him an excuse to give up. He did get scoped after the race and there was a little blood, so we will look into this. Finally, Train Hill and Tom Buckley finished our busy day. He had no luck in running and got caught in lots of traffic during the race. Turning into home straight Train Hill was last, but he stayed and ran on well to finish 4th which we were delighted with, and a much improved performance from last time.
Oscar Montel heads to Worcester today in a Handicap Chase with Brain on board. We look forward to seeing how he goes and are hoping it is one closer this time. There are still shares available in the fun summer partnership, and it would be great for you to get involved.
We have no entries for the rest of the week, but if it all goes to plan Jamacho will head to Jersey for Friday. It is a nightmare trying to sort out travel with Brexit and Covid, if you have not had two vaccinations you have to isolate for 10 days. However, we should all be good to go now, and we look forward to a trip out there.
The horses that are back in from their holidays have been trotting around the loop, so far so good and they all seem pretty well behaved. This is the time where we will start to get more of them in and get busier again.
