Hot weather over - winter is coming! We actually have managed to stay fairly dry this morning, and it has not rained as heavily as expected - but I am sure that is to come!
We had a busy morning with Paul in to school a few, as well as our conditional Tom. We also took Nightfly, Train Hill, Glencassley and Moon King away to Lambourn to do some schooling. All went well, and I cannot wait to see them running over hurdles. Nightfly went as our lead horse - she is such a good jumper and I am hoping she is a good influence on the youngsters!
We had a busy start to the week with runners at Warwick on Monday and Tuesday. Scene Not Herd, Western Miller, Shah An Shah, Local Affair, Kapsize and Vivas - all ran respectably well. They all looked fantastic at the races, and this is thanks to our fantastic stable staff who take great pride in the horses. Scene Not Herd ran a great race, and I think he will be very close next time out. Western Miller, as always, ran his heart out for us. Vivas was unlucky, but again, I am very pleased with his performance to 2nd. Local Affair had first time cheek pieces on and it seemed to shake her up a little bit, and Tom Buckley gave Kapsize a positive ride to finish 3rd.
Later on in the week we have entries for Beyond The Clouds and The Vollan - although I think The Vollan might not get in. Next week we look to have entries for Snow Leopardess, Moon King and The Vollan again.
Busy, busy! National Hunt season here we come!!
