26th October 2020

26 October 2020

Good Afternoon all, I hope you had a good weekend.

I was delighted with both Storm Goddess and Western Miller at Cheltenham on Friday. Storm Goddess literally 'stormed' up the Cheltenham hill home to finish 4th. It was a big field, and she was jumped off out the rear of the field, so had lots to do on the run in. When turning into the home straight the race looked wide open to anyone - it was exciting to see her finish so well. Western Miller also put up a great performance, in a strong handicap chase where he was 66/1 in the betting. He finished 2nd, and again ran on so well up the Cheltenham hill. They jumped off at a rapid gallop, which was to be expected in a 2m handicap at Cheltenham! No matter what the race, they always go that half a stride quicked at Cheltenham! It appears that 2m may be the ideal trip for Western Miller as I really was delighted with the way he finished the race. Vivas also ran at Cheltenham over the weekend in a very strong Handicap Chase which saw Frodon win! Vivas was slightly outclassed, and pulled up 3 out.

The weekend also saw Ballydine make his seasonal debut. After 323 days off the track it was great to see him back, and he probably needed the run. He will no doubt improve from this run, it was a strong race and Ballydine is a striking big horse that takes a while to get fit.

We have no runners today or tomorrow. Wednesday we have Train Hill and Glass of bubbles at Fakenham. We have lots of entries towards the end of the week.

I hope everyone has a great week.
