27 September 2022

It is a busy day tomorrow with four runners at Bangor On Dee. First up is Midnight Jewel, last time out winner, under Lilly Pinchin. We then have Stroll On By making his hurdling debut for Old Gold Racing under Brian Hughes. Peter’s Portrait is back on track and make his seasonal appearance with Lilly Pinchin steering. Finally, we have Catuaba make his rules debut. He won an Irish P2P back in April, before being purchased at the Cheltenham sale. James Best takes the ride. It is a really exciting time of year seeing everything out for the first time, we have high expectations and at the moment they could all become realities!

We know the National Hunt season is on its way due to the sudden drop in temperature. It has quickly changed from blue skies and t-shirts to waterproofs and coats.

On Thursday at Warwick, we have No Word making her rules debut in a Maiden Hurdle. She also won an Irish P2P before being purchased at a Cheltenham sale. She arrived looking awful last season and has had lots of time to be nursed back to health. The ground may be a bit too quick for her tomorrow, we walk it and assess. Glimpse Of Gala, a season star last year when winning three times, seems to have come in stronger than ever this season and takes to the track under Lilly Pinchin. Finally, Somekindofstar a new arrival to the yard makes his debut for us with Jack Quinlan steering.

Zestful Hope runs today at Newton Abbot, again we are hoping for a good run. He seems to have matured over the summer and is pleasing us at home. Paul O’Brien is on board.

The Wise Traveller is entered at Fontwell Saturday. Oscar Montel is entered at Kelso and Uttoxeter Sunday. Parramount, Jamacho and No Word also hold Uttoxeter entries. On Monday at Stratford, we have Caesar’s Palace, Parramount, George Bancroft and Tommy Cullen all entered up.

Caesar’s Palace is entered in the Juvenile hurdle, and we cannot wait to see him get out on the track. His homework has been fantastic, and he loves his jumping. He is part of the new Stratford Racing syndicate, which includes a FREE membership to Stratford, and use of the club hospitality box at all Stratford race days, regardless of a Charlie Longsdon runner. Of course, you also receive all the other syndicate benefits of; regular updates, O&T badges, stable tours, and lots of fun. Please get in touch amber@charlielongsdonracing.com for more details. It is only £2,500 to purchase your share and 6 months training fees!
