27 October 2021

We had a brilliant morning welcoming Old Gold Racing owners to Hull Farm. It was great to see such a big turn out, and we managed to escape the rain which was even better! Bacon rolls, teas and coffees got the morning off to a good start, before Charlie paraded Train Hill and Stroll On By (both that still have a couple of shares left in them and will be snapped up very soon, so have a look)! After that, everyone then headed up to the round gallop to watch a lot canter around six each way. Each horses were very well behaved, and Stroll On By certainly looked very professional covering the ground. We were a bit worried that the unnamed Getaway 3yo might be a bit spooked by all the people, as he can be very sharp, but he certainly showed himself off to the crowd and caught everyone’s eye! Shares are also available in him, please get in touch for more details – amber@charlielongsdonracing.com. On returning back to the yard there was a stable tour and a chance to ask questions before heading off to the pub! An informative and fun morning.

Yesterday we had two runners Moon King and Champagne Noir. Moon King ran a nice race from the front, when getting headed after two out. He rallied on well just could not quite get to the eventual winner to come second by a neck under Sam Twiston Davies. Champagne Noir is forever frustrating, and constantly seems to be finishing near the front, just not quite at the front! Yesterday he ran another strong race to finish third under Gavin Sheehan.

Tomorrow we have George Bancroft in the juvenile hurdle at Ffos Las under Aiden Coleman, he won well last time out and we are hoping for another pleasing performance. We also have Guetapan Collonges making his seasonal and chase debut at Stratford under Will Kennedy. It is the last Stratford meeting of the season, and we are looking forward to a fun day out with the Stratford Racing Club.

Glen Forsa and Snow Leopardess are entered in the Grade 3 2m7f Chase at Ascot on Saturday and then we have lots of entries for Sunday. At Huntingdon George Bancroft is entered, however unlikely to run due to running tomorrow, Jamacho and Freethinker are also entered. Lingfield also takes place on Sunday, and we have Hoot At Midnight, Freethinker and Do Wanna Know entered. Looking forward to the new week, we have entries for Do Wanna Know, Scene Not Herd and Raven Court for Hereford on Monday. That will be the first day of November already! Finally, Glen Forsa has had an entry for the Ladbrokes Trophy – known as the Hennessy to us – at Newbury on the 27th November, an early closing entries race.

There is lots to look forwards too in the next coming weeks.
