It has been a frosty couple of mornings here, with temperatures getting down to -2! It makes a change to the wet miserable weather we have been having! It was interesting finding out what Tier everyone was in yesterday, Hull Farm comes under Tier 2, along with all race meetings on the 3rd of December, resulting in all meetings allowing 2,000 spectators. It will be nice to see some spectators back at the racecourse in those tier 2 locations, alebit all socially distanced and with masks! It will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
We had Carlow Farmer and Stormy Milan on Wednesday at Hereford. Carlow ran a respectable race to finish 3rd, which is improvement from his last run. Stormy Milan has been off the track for a while with a few niggling problems, so it was exciting to finally see him back to being race fit. Unfourtunatley, he jumped the 2nd fence so big that he landed in a heap and Paul thought that he cantered away a bit short, so pulled him up. Stormy Milan has come out of the race sound, so hopefully we can look for another race soon. On Thursday we had Miss Molinari at Lingfield, she is a slow mare who needs heavy ground. It was her seasonal debut so will have needed the run.
Today we have Champagne Noir and Freethinker at Doncaster, both have been working well at home and we look forward to seeing what they can do. Freethinker is a very quirky character at home, and it will be interesting to see how much he learnt from his previous run. Saturday we have Almazhar Garde and Western Miller at Newbury, both in competitive races, but have been pleasing at home. We also have Kapsize and Jamacho at Doncaster. Sunday at Leicester is Tuff Times making his seasonal debut. He only had one run last season which was disappointing, since then he has had a wind operation and we would hope to see some improvement. Glass of Bubbles also runs at Leicester.
