30 November 2020

As if it is December tomorrow! This year has really flown by, and we have been in lockdown for the majority! We have just sent out our November newsletter, check it out here - https://mailchi.mp/b5c25a3cf090/charlie-longsdon-november-newsletter-5283344. Also, don't forget our social media competition ends tomorrow, so make sure you have your entries in!

A weekend of slight disapointments, but we can't have winners all the time! Also a weekend of constant fog, the fog has been around for the whole weekend, visibility has not been great! But, it seems to have lifted now.

On Friday Champagne Noir and Freethinker at Doncaster. Champagne Noir put in a lovely round of jumping, as always, to come 3rd. Freethinker was not as settled as I would have liked, and he ran too keen therefore could not get home strongly. He is a quirky character, and I will look to get him more settled next time out.

Saturday was the Ladbrokes trophy meeting at Newbury, where we had Almazhar Garde and Western Miller both running. It was a very surreal experience, due to it being one of the big meetings but no one there! The atmosphere was lacking slightly, however the racing was still very good. Almazhar Garde got completley run off his feet from the word go. They went extremely quick and he was flat out the whole way round. He will need further in time, but it is easy to forget he is only 5! He came home with a nasty gash in his leg, so will have a week off before we decide where to go next. Western Miller fell at the 2nd fence. He has never fallen in his life, so it was quite a shock, he did not jump the fence badly, just did not seem to get his landing gear out! Interesting that two others in his race fell similar. He is very fresh this morning, and seems well, therefore I will look for a race for him in the next couple of weeks.

Saturday we also had Kapsize and Jamacho at Doncaster. Kapsize did not quite see out the 3m trip and heads to the sales on Friday. Jamacho just finds life difficult now due to him having risen a lot in the handicaps. He has now gone out for a holiday, and we look forward to getting him in for his chasing campaign next season. We also had Beyond The Clouds and The Vollan head out to grass for their winter break today.

Leicester on Sunday saw Glass of Bubbles and Tuff Times both pull up, which does not look great on paper. Tuff Times was having his first run of the season, so will come on from it. We will go back to the drawing board with Glass of Bubbles.

No runners today, Present Endeavour at Southwell tomorrow, and Parramount, Snow Leopardess' half bother, runs at Haydock Wednesday making his racecourse debut.

Lots of entries later on in the week; Do Wanna Know, Ballydine, Illegal Model, Moon King, Teenage Dirtbag, Merry Milan, Hoot At Midnight, Glimpse of Gala and Just Your Type

I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a good week!
