Horses for Sale

30th November 2022

30 November 2022

Visibility has been reduced these past couple of days with the thick fog we have had. The same can be said for Catterick on Monday. There was an inspection half an hour before the first race, Ardbraccans race, due to fog. The inspection was passed, and racing went ahead, however viewing was limited. It was a tough day for the commentators. They jumped off and when they finally came into sight, we did not see Ardbraccan with the field. It turned out she fell at the first fence, she just got in a bit tight and did not get her landing gear out, explained Johnny. Luckily, she is fine, and it will not be long before we see her out again. Hopefully with a bit better luck! Somekindofstar ran at Southwell yesterday to finish 7th. He just got a bit tired and may well go home for a break while the ground goes heavy.

Lilly was in this morning, and we schooled a few. What About Time, Potters Hedger, Scene Not Herd and Lyrical Genius jumped around the ring, all were very good. Imperial Jade, Catuaba, Alien Storm, Tommy Cullen, Ardbraccan and Calidad jumped down the bottom on the grass. It is usually bottomless down there by now, but it is lovely jumping ground currently. The Jet Away 3yo, Castle Robin and Haas Boy all popped round the school nicely. It was a pleasing morning. Miss Applejack and Queen Mandana, half sisters to Glimpse Of Gala and Snow Leopardess, headed off to Adlestrop for a gallop this morning. It was great to see them work so well, and we can only hope that they follow in their sisters’ footsteps.

The Wise Traveller heads to Wincanton tomorrow with Bradley on board. It is then all roads leading to Saturday. Can Snow Leopardess defend her Becher Chase crown? She is in great form, and we are all looking forward to seeing her back over the fences. Gaelic Park is also entered at Aintree Saturday. Well Dick is entered at Chepstow, Almazhar at Sandown and Castle Robin at Wetherby also on Saturday. Potters Hedger, Éclair On Line and What About Time are entered on Sunday at Huntingdon. No entries Monday. George Bancroft, Stroll On By and Lyrical Genius Tuesday.

Where has the time gone? As if we are going to be in December tomorrow! Time has been flying by, and with the horses running well and the season underway it has been a great vibe around the place. With it being the end of the month, we have just sent out our monthly Newsletter, be sure to have a read - https://mailchi.mp/1e83334ddd5b/charlie-longsdon-newsletter-13767376">https://mailchi.mp/1e83334ddd5b/charlie-longsdon-newsletter-13767376
