Another cold one last night with temperatures dropping to -10 in places and it is still -8 here. We were fortunate that we did get our horses on the gallops eventually yesterday, though it was not until lunchtime that we managed to do so. It will probably be the same today and we might also take a couple of groups of horses over to the Hutsby's to use their gallop.

Sandown did the sensible thing early yesterday morning and called off their big meeting for today - very frustrating as Qhilimar and Baseball Ted had both planned to go there. Wetherby called their meeting for today off yesterday afternoon, so that only leaves Ffos Las with the remotest chance of going ahead. It would be great if they managed to save the meeting and I am sure Dai Waters will have done his best to keep the meeting, especially with his Oscar Whisky running. But I have heard rumours that there is no chance of it going ahead - I just hope they make an early decision before the 9am inspection........

If the meeting does go ahead I see Rey Nacarado is favourite for the West Wales National and Little Chip will also have an each way chance in the bumper.....

It therefore looks as if chances of racing over the coming days is fairly bleak. We are now forecast plenty of snow - it could make things interesting!
