Review of 2017

29 December 2017

2017 is drawing to a close and it is a time to take stock of yet another good year.

January kicked off with Pete triumphant in the Veterans Final and Our Kaempfer putting everything together to win at Kempton.

February started with a successful trip to Musselburgh with Forth Bridge winning the Listed Juvenile Hurdle and Monbeg Charmer winning the Albert Bartlet Trial.

March saw the launch of our Racing Club, Pendra running a mighty race in defeat at Cheltenham, and Snow Leopardess winning the Grade 2 Mares’ Novices’ Finale.

Loose Chips finished his season with another win in a veteran’s race at Ascot in April and Drop Out Joe ran his final race in the Grand National.

Midnight Shot won the first of 4 chases this year in May and Kilfinichen Bay won his 11th race.

June rolled around with some very hot weather and with most of the horses and staff on holiday Western Miller won a Handicap Hurdle at Bangor.

In July we welcomed Johnny to Team Longsdon and Bestwork won 2 races in a week!

Jacobite Rising won well at the beginning of August as most of the horses were slowly returning to work.

September soon arrived with our successful Open Afternoon and Johnny knotched his first win for me on Western Miller at Stratford. Hammersly Lake, Barton Rose and Midnight Shot were also on the winners board and Snow Leopardess was victorious in France.

We finally got up to 500 winners in October with Aunty Ann, Hammersly Lake ran in America and the Racing Club celebrated their first winner.

November was a frustrating month however Monbeg Charmer got everything right at Ludlow.

Nightfly, Pete, Castafiore, Bestwork and Lisdoonvarna Lad have given the entire team some Christmas cheer in December and something to look forward to in 2018.
