13 April 2018

We may be waiting for next years Cheltenham Festival to break our duct however Bentelimar has become our first Aintree Festival winner.

Bentelimar has been a horse who has promised plenty and looked extremely well handicapped on his form and it was a relief for him to get his head in front in a decent handicap. The Zut Media Red Rum Handicap Chase at Aintree was a valuable handicap chase and the combination of a flat course dropping back in trip to 2 miles and the application of cheek pieces really suited him. Johnny rode a brilliant race, having him in the right position the whole way. He looks a horse with a big future ahead of him in these 2 mile handicap chases!

Today we have Midnight Shot in the Randox Health Topham Handicap Chase over the big fences and Louse Talk in the Doom Bar Sefton Novices' Hurdle Gr. 1. Midnight Shot has schooled well over the fences in Lambourn and he ran a good race at Cheltenham last time out however he would prefer better ground. Louse Talk has plenty to find on ratings however he has won his two starts over hurdles and is improving all the time however this is a step up in class.

Tomorrow Pendra runs in The Randox Health Grand National and will be ridden by Aidan Coleman. Last year he missed the race due to an injury which only showed itself on declaration day. He has had a wind operation since his run at Cheltenham and we are looking forward to his run! We also have Hammersly Lake in the Betway Handicap Chase Gr. 3, he is having his first run since the American Grand National back in October.

At Chepstow we have A Vos Gardes in the totepool Cashback Club At totesport.com Novices' Limited Handicap Chase.

At Hull Farm we are cheering our physio, Flora Hurrell on in her final stage of the Marathon Des Sables. She has been training hard on the gallops as well as riding out in the yard! She has already exceeded her target of raising £10,000 for Walking With The Wounded. Please continue to donate to her cause and track her progress accross the Sahara!

Keep kicking Flo-Rider!!
