Midnight Shot made the journey to Cartmel worthwhile when running a brilliant race to win the Ciceley Commercials Handicap Chase. He had struggled to regain his confidence after his run in The Topham but put his past performances behind him to get his head in front. Johnny gave him a cracking ride especially considering it was his first visit to the course.
Kilfinichen Bay also ran a good race to finish 3rd after hitting the 2nd last, hard and almost came to a standstill. He is a horse who become wise to conventional courses and the twists and turns at Cartmel keep him guessing. Unfortunately that was their final meeting of the year so we will have to wait until next year to raid Cartmel for theor famous sticky toffee puddings! In the meantime we will have to look to places like Fontwell to keep Kilfinichen entertained.
