Alan Roche – Head Lad
Roche joined us in 2008 as Head Lad, having previously worked for Jonjo O’Neill in the same role for 14 years. He is an excellent horseman, and his knowledge of the horses is superb. He is in charge of the horses’ care and maintenance in the yard as well as making sure all the staff know what they are doing. Roche also breaks in our young horses and does a brilliant job with them.
Emma Batten – Racing Secretary
Emma has now been with us since 2009, she is a huge asset to our team! Having previously worked as a racing secretary for Jonjo O’Neill. She set up the office when we moved to Hull Farm and keeps things running smoothly, she also does the accounts and rides out.
Rachel Lander - Assistant Trainer
Rachel has rejoined us here at Hull Farm, her previous role included riding out, overseeing the feeding and assisting our Head Lad. She will now be representing Charlie at the races, communicating with and entertaining owners. She will also carry out a variety of office duties throughout the day when not racing including running the social media accounts.
Isobel Snowdon – Travelling Head Groom
Issy previously worked at Dan Skelton's & Harriet Dickin's, she has great experience in driving the horses to the races, turning them out to a high standard. Issy brings vibrant enthusiasm to our yard and is a great fit to our team here at CLR, when she is not racing Issy will be joining the team with riding out.
Jess Benfield - Stable Staff
Jess is a familiar face here, having previously spent over 10 years with us. After taking some time away to welcome her new baby, we're delighted to have her back as part of the team. Jess is an exceptional rider with a real talent for producing young and quirky horses. With her wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of how we work, she fits seamlessly back into the yard, and we're thrilled to have her with us once again.
Daire McConville - Conditional Jockey
Daire brings plenty of experience to the team despite still claiming a valuable 7lbs. Having begun his career in Ireland with Henry De Bromhead before riding for the likes of Ian Williams and Martin Keighley, he now joins our team. His knowledge, work ethic and experience make him a fantastic addition to the team!
Georgia Brearey - Stable Staff
Georgia finally joined the team full time seven years ago, having ridden out on Saturdays for the past few years while studying at school. Nothing is ever too much of a problem, and she is a lovely quiet rider. Georgia is a huge asset when being entrusted to do ‘flat work’ with the horses, rides work and cares for the horses like no other. There is never a day Georgia doesn't have a smile on her face and we love having her around!
Megan Hunter – Stable Staff
Megan arrived here having previously worked for Jonjo O'Neill and David Griffiths. Megan is now on her third season with us, it’s been fantastic to see how much she has progressed since joining the team. Megan has approached everything with a positive attitude and a real eagerness to learn. She is a great asset to the yard and has built great relationships with her favourite horse, Shan't Wait.
Grace Davies - Stable Staff
Grace joined us with plenty of experience working in racing, she has a fantastic work ethic and is never without a smile when she is around the yard! Grace is a brilliant, quiet rider who gets on with all different types of horses, she rides out with the team daily and also attends the races, her favourite horses are Realisation, Galatrona and Alien Storm.
Zeniy Glyebov - Stable Staff
Zeniy is a crucial member of the staff, able to turn his hand to repair most things, as well has helping with the mucking out, bedding up and any general maintenance around the yard. Zeniy is a massive asset to the team, he is always happy and can turn his hand to anything.
Kara Jones - Stable Staff
Kara is new to the team this season and has recently graduated from racing school, making this her very first season in racing. She is a quiet, thoughtful rider who is already building great relationships with the horses through her calm and patient approach. Kara has settled into the yard incredibly well and her positive attitude and friendly nature make her a pleasure to have around.
Vadym Masik - Stable Staff
Vadym is in his eighth season with us, he is a good yardman and in charge of making sure all the bedding up is done in the yard and the hay. Vadym can fix and handle just about anything, himself and Zeniy work as a great team that we appriciate having everyday.
The main team is supported by regular work riders Jordan Nailor, Archie Bellamy, Gill Anderson and Harry Longsdon.
