The sun seems to be shining (finally!), which means drying ground and more runners. This past week we've had runners at the likes of Cheltenham, Fontwell, Exeter, Stratford and Wincanton. Sadly no winners but some good solid runs from a few of them.
Almazhar Garde was the highlight of the week finishing a pleasing 2nd at Wincanton on Sunday with Paul O'Brien on board. That is now three 2nd placings on the trot...surely he will win soon! He put in a smart jumping performance throughout to jump into touch with the leader, but just couldnt' catch him in the closing stages. Congratulations to Arthur's Party, and well done to Tor for winning the Best Turned Out...he looked a picture in the paddock!
We also had a busy couple of days at Cheltenham in the sunshine, with I Am Gonna Be for Mark Dunphy, and Hector Javilex for David Mason both running very well with Lilly Pinchin in the saddle. Ellie showed us a very promising run on her first time at the racecourse for us, looking to threaten the leaders three out to end up finishing 5th. She will step down in trip next time out and could be an exciting one to watch! And Hector was brilliant as always, jumping fluently throughout but didn't quite quicken with them on the run-in to end up 6th.
Now we move into the final week of the season with potential runners at Kempton, Southwell, Ludlow, Uttoxeter, Warwick, Huntingdon, Chepstow and of course, Sandown. Good luck everyone.
