It was great to get a winner yesterday for Andrew and Kate Brooks.... Almazhar Garde's win might not have been the prettiest, but it was still impressive and he has a very bright future. He is still only a 5yo and is actually a great jumper, but he is a little over enthusiastic and you could see Gavin having the odd argument into a fence where the horse thought he knew better and Gavin having to correct him. It is a massive plus that Gavin is riding on the 'crest of a wave' at present and showed the horse who was boss.....
It was a beautiful morning here yeserday and it was great to Bob and Camilla Barltrop in to see the horses on the gallops. Bob and Camilla had won a prize at the VWH Hunt auction and it was great to welcome them to the yard on such a fine morning. With the weather being so nice, it became a bit of a photograph morning as you can see!!
Today, with the drying ground we have three runners. Jenkins heads up to Doncaster. We all know he is a bit of a character, but this is a big drop in grade and he seems extremely well at home, so hopefully he can put his best foot forward. I also have Jet Set and Peter's Portrait heading to Huntingdon. Jet Set needs to build on her good third last time at Musselburgh and Peter needs to break his Maiden tag after a few closely placed runs......
