Winner no.3!! Western Miller put in a class round of jumping yesterday, under a lovely ride from Paul O’Brien to win at Uttoxeter yesterday by 6 lengths. He has been a fantastic horse for us, and I am delighted for The Pantechnicons, but I do wish they were all at the racecourse to see it. Jon Holton, part of the Free Thinkers syndicate in the yard, was at Uttoxeter yesterday and managed to capture some beautiful shots of Western Miller. Thank you Jon. Hopefully, the restrictions on owners will start to ease soon. Train Hill ran in the bumper yesterday at Uttoxeter, and to be honest he was slightly disappointing. We may have rushed him slightly with him only being young and having come over from Ireland last month. He travelled like the best horse in the race until turning in, where he showed his greenness. We will now give him an easy month and come September he should be a different horse. We are excited for his future.
This morning we had Katie O’Farrell in to ride out a couple before she heads back to Nicholls. We also had the Tweed Clad Fossils syndicate in to see Glimpse of Gala up the gallops, all at a social distance, as well as Jane Thornton & Grant Leon to see Glencassley and Lochinver.
Barton Rose runs this evening at Newton Abbot, and The Vollan runs at Market Rasen on Monday. We look forward to seeing how they get on.
