3 May 2022

Another bank holiday weekend, and already into May. Time is just flying by. No bank holiday break for the staff here, but due to only having a small number of horses in work they managed to get ridden out quickly and off home early. No summer jobs, painting or washing, was necessary from them yesterday. Back to proper work today!

Lilly Pinchin was into ride out. She rode work on If I Say and George Bancroft. We then managed to get a few schooled. Oscar Montel and Tea For Free popped away around the ring where the ditch board was in. Both schooled well and run on Thursday. Tea For Free is making his novice chasing debut at Huntingdon. Oscar Montel is in a handicap hurdle at Worcester. Imperial Jade and Soldat Forte jumped in the school. Imperial Jade is the then 2yo we had last summer, she has grown massively and turned into a really nice type. Her jumping is superb, and we cannot wait to get going with her. Soldat Forte is a recent recruit bought privately in Ireland. So far, he has a nice way of going and jumps well. He should provide a summer of fun for someone.

Present Storm was not suited by the track up at Hexham on Saturday. She was making her chasing debut, and jumped well, despite coming 10th. Train Hill travelled like a good horse all the way, before coming off the bridle and stopped quickly. We will get him checked over to see if we can note any abnormalities.

Still searching for the first winner of the season. We have entries for Zestful Hope at Warwick on Saturday and Southwell on Monday. On Sunday, Hoot At Midnight is entered at Plumpton.
