Since we last spoke, we have not had any runners, Brogan has made her way to France and the office has been painted! The weather has been great that past couple of days which certainly puts everyone in a good mood. Jess has finished her holidays for the moment and is back at work. Talking of holidays, the horses all look great out in their various fields.

Local Affair is declared at Market Rasen today, with Paul O’Brien on board. She runs over fences for the first time, and we look forward to seeing how she goes. She has spent time at Lew House Stables loose schooling. On Saturday we have Oscar Montel, our recent Irish recruit at Hexham in a Beginners’ Chase. From Hexham we then travel up to Perth with Beyond The Clouds in a Novice Chase. Brian Hughes rides both. A weekend of Northern racing for us.

We have some shares available in an exciting new ownership opportunity with Oscar Montel, who is due to run tomorrow. Rob Aplin & The Stratford Racing Club, the partnership that won four races with Jamacho last season, will take over ownership. The Stratford Racing Club will have 50%, which will be split into 10 equal shares, along with a FREE Annual Membership at Stratford Racecourse for the season. An affordable and fun way to get involved in racehorse ownership.

Oscar Montel is a lovely looking horse, who I have had the joy of getting to know and riding out since he arrived from Ireland. He has really thrived and gives me a great feel up the gallop. Paul has been into school him, and really likes his way of going. He is showing the correct attitude and with a rating of 125 he should provide great days out at the nice summer meetings. Charlie also trained his half-brother Bentelimar, who won the Red Rum Chase at the Aintree festival. If you would like to buy a share, or to find out more, please do not hesitate to get in contact – amber@charlielongsdonracing.com.

Next week is, again, pretty quiet. We only currently have Present Storm entered at Southwell on Tuesday.
