8 September 2021
The last of the summer sun, we have made the most of it, ready for the thunderstorms and winter to start tomorrow! On the plus side, it does not look as though it is going to rain on Sunday for our Open Day. Therefore, we expect to see lots of you there. Gates open to the public from 12:30pm, and there is no need to book, just turn up. It looks as though it will be an informative and enjoyable afternoon.
We still seem to have got this annoying seconditis. Champagne Noir ran a fab race from the front at Uttoxeter, and we were very pleased with how he ran. He looked as though he was enjoying himself and jumped well. However, in solid Uttoxeter style he just got beat on the line into 2nd. Although, Jess did win best turned out, so at least we won something! We have no runners for the rest of the week, in fact there is no jumps racing. We do have entries for Fontwell, which was meant to be Southwell, on Tuesday. Glimpse Of Gala and Teenage Dirtbag look to make seasonal debuts, and Midnight Jewel will be continuing his summer campaign.
Paul was in this morning to ride out, however we did not school any due to a busy morning and we are sending six horses schooling to Lambourn on Friday. Charlie headed off to the sales early this morning, and has so far purchased Lot 104 Due Reward, and hopefully he will come back with a few more. Get your orders in! The Vollan and Train Hill are both up at Doncaster and will be heading through the ring soon.
Make the most of the lovely English sunshine everyone, and we hope to see lots of you at the weekend.
