9 January 2021

An interesting day yesterday, we had snow in the morning and a runner who didn't make it to Newcastle! It has been very cold the past couple of days, but the team have powered on through. It snowed yesterday, but only a little flurry so didn't make it too difficult for us, however we sent Moon King to Newcaslte to run at the "Jumpers Bumpers" fixture and they never made it. Will and Brogan left at 4.45am, giving themself lots of time, however at 9.15am they were in stand still traffic. This traffic did not move at all! At 1.00pm they were still in the same que of traffic, and were not going to make it. Therefore, poor Moon King was a non runner and travelled all that way for nothing. It was good to know that we were not the only ones in that situation, lots of jockeys did not make it due to the traffic, and nor did the horses. I know Donald Mccain and Phil Kirby had to pull out all of there runners. Oh well, that is the risk we take when we travel all that way. So we have had no runners this week yet!

Although, today we have 3 runners at 3 meetings and are lucky that all 3 meetings are going ahead, especially after the doubt we all had. Castle Robin runs in the Lanzarote at Kempton with Sean Quinlan, Illegal Model runs at Chepstow with Gavin Sheehan on board, and Merry Milan at Wincanton with Harry Reed on board.

No runners Sunday, but Freethinker and Carlow Farmer at Doncaster on Monday. Entries later on in the week include; Rivarros, Glass of Bubbles, Punctuation, Scene Not Herd, Just Your Type and Miss Molinari.

I hope everyone has a great weekend, not that you can do a lot in this lockdown! Watch the racing on the TV is about it!
