It has been a quiet start to the new year with only a handful of runners last week. Calidad ran a much improved race at Hereford to come a gallant second. While Queen Mandana and Miss Applejack had their first experience on a racecourse at Ludlow on Friday. They both ran nice races and should be far more savvy next time out with good experiences under their belt. We headed to Sandown for the Veterans Series final with the mighty Snow Leopardess on Saturday. She ran a funny race not really picking the bridle up for the first circuit until Aiden pulled her wide and she started to run on… a girls prerogative?!
On Sunday we hosted a training day for the pony racing authority in which our own partnership Harry Longsdon and Tiny Dancer joined other budding jockeys to get qualified to run in Pony Races coming up. The PRA do such a great job and all the children looked to have big smiles on their faces which is what it’s all about!
The team head up North to Doncaster tomorrow with three runners, The Wise Traveller, Lyrical Genius and Tommy Cullen. Fingers crossed all three have good safe runs.
