Our strike rate is at 33% as we speak after we added two more wins to our tally over the weekend.

We had a 1-2 at Hereford on Saturday! Glencassley returned the track in flying form after almost a year off, and put in an impressive round of jumping to win the novice’s handicap chase on his debut over fences. Richie McLernon came back raving about his jumping so we look forward to getting him out again soon. Stable mate Harjo ran in the same race, and despite looking to lose interest mid race, he came back again to put up a good fight and finished second under James Bowen. Harjo did win the Best Turned Out Award that’s to Jess Benfield - well done! And a huge congratulations to owners Mr Grant Leon and Mr Alan Halsall.

On Sunday came another win as Well Dick gave all his heart to get his nose in front in the Volcano Handicap Chase. Lilly Pinchin said that was a hugely satisfying win for her as she rode Well Dick will full confidence over the line…it wasn’t an easy win but they sure did try their hardest and it paid off! Great to see this horse back in the winning enclosure after his previous runs this season. Congratulations to his wonderful owner Mr Malcolm Olden and to all the CLR team at home.

Let’s try to keep this strike rate up as we head into Cheltenham Festival this week. We have three possible runners:

Hector Javilex in the Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle – Thursday 14th

Do Your Job in the Trustatrader Plate Handicap Chase – Thursday 14th

Parramount in the County Handicap Hurdle – Friday 15th

We also have Almzahar Garde running at Sedgefield tomorrow (Tuesday 12th) in his bid to qualify for the Go North Red Rum Series. And no doubt we will have runners later in the week at Ffos Las, Uttoxeter, Kempton and Huntingdon.
