It has been a cold week thats for sure - temperatures at -5 yesterday, with a wind chill of about -11!! This morning is cold, but we had the most amazing sunrise - Red sky in the morning, shepheards warning. What more bad weather can we possibly get?!? My team have been fantastic, and I am always so grateful to them working hard in this weather. All the taps and water drinkers have been frozen, so it has been a case of making sure every horse gets a bucket of water, and filling up the water butts regulary so we do not run out! Roche has been up early harrowing the gallop to ensure that doesn't freeze, and we have been lucky that is hasn't stopped us working the horses. However, it has put paid to racing again!! No racing in the Britain on Saturday - Newbury and Warwick are abandoned. However, it is good to see those cards have been revised for the following week.
I have declared Snow Leopardess for Exeter on Sunday, which at the moment they are hopeful of it going ahead. An inspection has been called for 8:30 on Sunday morning. Catterick on Monday is currently snow covered, but hopefully the snow will clear over the weekend. I have Do Wanna Know and Almazhar Garde who are entered at Catterick, and are in great form ready for a run, they have just had no where to go these past few weeks! Entries later next week for Carlow Farmer and Guetapan Collonges. Just Your Type is entered in the Haydock Grand National Trial next Saturday.
Yesterday, we had Beyond The Clouds at Kempton in the All Weather Jumpers Bumper, he was disappointing, however he will come on from the run massively and really needed it. Brian said he took a big blow on the home straight when they all quickened away.
