Good Morning Team, sorry for the delayed blog, we ended up having a rather busy day yesterday. However, first things first, Everyonesgame made a terrific start to his under rules career by winning at Doncaster on Tuesday under Brian Hughes. He travelled well and lengthened well to the line. He arrived from the Tattersalls Cheltenham Sale in November and has pleased us in his work at home, we were delighted to see this transpire on to the track. A big congratulations to owner Mr Malcolm Olden. The team have been in great form, and it is great to see it continue. We have now equalled last season’s total of winners at 31, and hopefully we still have a few more winners left till the end of the season!

High Yield also ran in the Doncaster bumper but weakened in the closing stages under Paul O’Brien. He is very on the forehand and is only little so gets stuck in the mud slightly, we know he needs better ground, so we will be looking out for this next time. Another Doncaster runner was Glencassley, ridden by Paul, who ran a creditable race to finish 3rd. He takes a while to step up his gears, and therefore will need further in time.

Illegal Model ran at Exeter on Tuesday, he ran a great race albeit coming 5th, he just took a good blow on the way round and needed the run. He did run at Kelso earlier this season, although only got to the second fence but this was through no fault of his own. He will definitely improve for the run. He jumped brilliantly and loved the heavy ground, as we know. Back to Monday, Castle Robin ran at Ludlow. He was disappointing, jumping is usually his forte but this was not the case on Monday. He is back home and was checked over by the vet yesterday.

Wednesday turned out to be a busy day. We had no runners, but lots of owners and visitors to the yard which was great. It was a beautiful crisp morning, like today, a bit different to the foggy murky mornings we have been getting. We had owners of Freethinker, The Wise Traveller, Éclair On Line and Train Hill, along with Getaway X Missusan, who has recently been named Alien Storm. We also had a few people coming to look at our horses for sale, and it was great to see Malcolm & Marilyn Olden who came to see their winner. The fire was roaring, cake was served, tea and coffees were flying around, and it was a great atmosphere. Please do come and visit us soon.

Wednesday is also schooling morning, but unfortunately the beautiful crisp morning meant that schooling on the grass was forbidden due to frozen ground. Therefore, we jumped a few on the round gallop, Scene Not Herd, Hector Javilex, The Mighty Arc, Byzantium Lad, Guetapan Collonges, The Wise Traveller, Rivarros, Saint Dalina and Just Your Type. Paul and Will Kennedy were in, and our new conditional Kane Yeoman also jumped a couple.

Almazhar Garde has made the trip to Catterick today in the North Yorkshire Grand National over 3m5f. He is due to carry top weight, at 11st12lb, however Luca Morgan rides and takes 5lb off his back. Fingers crossed for a good run.

Tomorrow The Mighty Arc heads to Sedgefield with Brian Hughes on board, and Peter’s Portrait makes his long awaited seasonal debut at Huntingdon with Will Kennedy. He has been off the track for over a year, so it is great to see him return.
