Sorry Team, it has been a while since my last blog! Since then, we did have a lovely full day of rain, much to the staff’s delight. It was needed after all our moaning due to the lack of rain!
Tea For Free put in a fantastic performance when making his debut over fences at Huntingdon last Thursday, giving us our first winner of the new season! Lilly gave him a patient ride, and slowly creeped him into the race. He stayed on strongly and won comfortably. We always knew he was going to make a staying chaser; he is a big galloper. Tea For Free has now headed off for his much deserved summer holidays and is sure to come in a stronger horse.
Oscar Montel also ran last Thursday, this time at Worcester. He ran a nice race, jumped, and travelled well throughout the race under Paul O’Brien. He just did not have the turn of foot at the end, however he stayed on nicely. It should not be long before he is in the winner’s enclosure this summer.
Zestful Hope took to the track at Warwick to finish 3rd under Jordan Nailor. He ran a good race and will now enjoy a nice summer holiday. Hoot At Midnight made her seasonal debut at Plumpton last Sunday. She was not ridden by regular rider Charlie Deutsch, due to availability, however Sam Twiston Davies was a suitable substitute! She will benefit for the run and ran a creditable 4th. Finally, George Bancroft took to the Fontwell track yesterday, this time with first time cheek pieces. He ran a nice race to finish 2nd under Jonjo O’Neill Jnr.
If I Say is declared to run at Uttoxeter tomorrow, Lilly Pinchin rides in a Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle. She will be fitted with first time Cheek Pieces and Tongue Strap. Next week we have entries for Beyond The Clouds at Warwick and High Yield at Southwell on Wednesday. High Yield also holds an entry at Market Rasen along with Due Reward on Thursday. Champagne Noir is entered in the Goffs UK Doncaster Sales next week.
Charlie will be in attendance at both the Store sale and Horses In Training sale next week at Doncaster. Please see the attached catalogues, and if anything spies your fancy then do get in touch!
