Jamacho is now an overseas winner! He made all the paperwork, Covid tests and travel worth it when winning the Handicap Hurdle under Brian Hughes, Brian also happened to ride a four timer out there. There was a moment of worry when he planted at the start, cheeky Jamacho, however he then got going and won nicely. Well done to Jess and Louise who got him over there safely and looked after him. Congratulations to his owner Rob Aplin, it was his idea to head off to Jersey. He has now qualified for the Jersey Champion Hurdle on the 8th August, so we will be back.

A new purchase from Tattersalls Newmarket arrived on Saturday, 3yo George Bancroft from the Roger Varian stable. He won last time out on the flat, and we look forward to getting to know him. He will be for sale, so please get in touch for more details.

A lovely day out was had at Stratford on Sunday. Although we had no runners, The Stratford Racecourse syndicate, owners of Jamacho, Present Storm and Oscar Montel, were treated to a box for the days racing as that is one of the benefits of joining the syndicate. The same again will happen at this Sunday’s Stratford meeting. There are still a couple of 5% shares left in Oscar Montel, so do get in touch if you fancy a good few fun days out for the summer.

Yesterday we had 8 more horses arrive in from their holidays, Largy Nights, Freethinker, Supremely Lucky, Thinque Tank, The Wise Traveller, Almazhar Garde, Glencassley and Tea For Free. These all had their shoes on yesterday and have been ridden out today. The majority of them were well behaved, with the exception of Freethinker who is not easy, and quite cold backed so we have to take things slow with him.

Midnight Jewel heads to Uttoxeter tomorrow in the Handicap Hurdle ridden by Tom Buckley. Present Storm heads to Worcester on Thursday for the Handicap Hurdle under Brian Hughes. We then have Present Storm and Beyond The Clouds entered at Stratford on Sunday.

Dylan Kitts, our new employee, has headed off the National Racehorse College this week to complete his conditional course, and we look forward to seeing him ride on the track soon. Jess is back in fulltime, along with Lee who has finished his holidays. It is starting to get busier now.

Finally, we are taking part in National Racehorse Week, and are holiding an open day on Sunday 12th September. It would be great to see so many of you there. https://nationalracehorseweek.uk/yard/charlie-longsdon/
