The temperature seems to have settled today, and for the first time this week we can turn the horses back out. They do not enjoy being out in the scorching sun. Lilly was in this morning to ride out, she had a sit on Midnight Jewel, Caesar’s Palace and the Sholokov youngster. The Sholokov youngster has now completed his early education and will join the other 3yo’s on their holidays. Casear’s Palace jumped again in the school. We have been doing lots of jumping with him, due to coming off the flat this is all new. Today he jumped around the hurdles and is really getting the hang of it.
As it is a Wednesday, Dave the vet was in. He had lots to do this morning due to horses returning from their holidays. Each horse gets trotted up and assessed when returning to work so we can keep a track of how they look and moved at the start of the season. All horses trotted up well, which is a relief!
Those that have returned from holidays have had shoes on and trotting work has begun. So far, they have all been well behaved, lets hope they continue that way!
One Last Dance and High Yield take to the track at Uttoxeter today under Lilly Pinchin. Midnight Jewel and Train Hill head to Worcester on Thursday evening, again Lilly Pinchin rides both. No further entries at the moment.
Make sure you all stay cool during this heatwave. It is summer, so we need to enjoy it!
