14th January 2022

14 January 2022

There have been some wonderful, crisp, frosty mornings here at Hull Farm. The blue skies and winter sun really makes for a beautiful day. Although, there was three inspections at Huntingdon this morning, one at 6:45am, then 9:15am and finally at 11:00am. This was due to the frost in the ground and freezing fog. However, pleased to report that the fog lifted, and the frost has descended. The official going is soft. We are looking forward to seeing Peter’s Portrait back on the track and fingers crossed for a good run. The Mighty Arc left early this morning and arrived safely at Sedgefield ready to run at 12:50pm.

Almazhar Garde ran another solid race at Catterick yesterday, and it is extremely frustrating to come second. He could not have done anything more, and it was just unfortunate to get caught on the line. Luca Morgan gave him a great ride, and we know Almazhar will get his day in the sun soon. He always runs his heart out. Arthur, as he is known at home (or King Arthur to Amber!) is out in the winter sun today with George Bancroft. It was brilliant to see them turned out and playing around in the field.

No weekend runners, and no entries for Monday and Tuesday. As mentioned before, January tends to be a quiet month for us. Although, it was exciting to have Oscar Montel, Beyond The Clouds and Due Reward back on the lot board earlier in the week. They have finished their winter holidays and are happy and fresh to be back in work. However, Alghazaal is entered at Newbury on Wednesday, as well as Ludlow on Thursday with Hector Javilex, Glimpse Of Gala and Eclair On Line.

Have a good weekend all, it looks cold so make sure you have the fire going!
