A busy Thursday morning, Brian Hughes, equestrian surfaces, and weigh day. Brian was in before he heads to Worcester this evening. He sat on new arrival George Bancroft. He recently arrived off the flat, so was having his first jump in the school this morning, learning from the best by being given a lead from Little Bruce. He was very willing, and we were pleased with how he went. Brian also sat on his favourite horse, Beyond The Clouds, he jumped over the hurdles on the round gallop. The round gallop has just been re-done, thanks to Equestrian Surfaces. The surface has been turned, and more has been added. Beyond The Clouds, and Train Hill schooled by Tom, got to test it out this morning. Good reports so far.

It was also our first weigh day of the season. Weigh day can be a chaotic, and as we have not done it for a while the horses are sometimes unsure of the scales. However, no major disasters and we now have their weights to analyse throughout the season. We will continue to weigh them weekly, and after race days.

Midnight Jewel ran a cracker yesterday to finish 2nd at Uttoxeter, under a positive ride from Tom Buckley. Unfortunately, we just bumped into a better horse on the day, however we really hope it will not be long before his head is over the line in front. He is happy out in the field today, with Present Storm who heads to Worcester for the 9.00pm this evening. She runs in the Handicap Hurdle with Brian Hughes on board. She is in good form, and we are hoping for a better performance than last time.

Beyond The Clouds and Present Storm are entered at Stratford on Sunday. A decision is yet to be made whether they will be declared, however we will still be joining the Stratford Racecourse syndicate in their personal box for the day. One of the benefits of joining the syndicate, get involved.
