A game seasonal debut from MIDNIGHT JEWEL!

15 July 2022

Midnight Jewel made a smart seasonal debut when winning at Worcester last night. He put up a very game performance to battle all the way to the line under Lilly Pinchin. That is now his fourth win for us. He loves his racing and has come back a stronger horse this season. It will be exciting to see how he progresses. Congratulation to his owner Ms Gillian Morgan. ‘Jester’ was treated to apples by the jockey and a day in the field with the sun on his back!

Train Hill put in a much improved performance under Lilly Pinchin. The removal of a tongue strap and cheek pieces certainly looked to make a difference. Despite coming 6th, he was only beaten 5 lengths and finished off his race well. It turned into more a sprint which would not have suited him, so it will be great to see how he runs next time out. The jockey also brought Train Hill some apples this morning, they were Waitrose ones too!

Lilly was in this morning, hence all the apples! She schooled Caesar’s Palace again, who is really getting the hang of his jumping. Little Bruce and George Bancroft went down the road to Adlestrop to use Richard Phillips gallop. This is so they could do a good, fast piece of work. Both went well and will not be far away from running. George Bancroft is entered next week at Worcester along with Oscar Montel. It was also an entertaining morning when Lilly, Rachel and Amber found themselves amongst the landlords moving cows. Rachel and Amber certainly did not look to be a fan of the cows but stood their ground and they were eventually moved to a new pasture.

Amber and Will both sat on their bikes last night for an easy pedal. This is before they head off to Cheltenham racecourse tomorrow morning, where they will start the 24 hours cycle. It sounds horrendous, but we know they will get it done. Keep them pedalling by donating via the link.
