We had a fantastic day at the races yesterday coming home with both a winner and a 2nd, we are delighted for all connections. Freshers Week made a dream start, winning his first race for us in a novice hurdle with an impressive display – he is an exciting horse for the season ahead and will only keep improving. A huge credit to Bowmore who finished a strong second on his seasonal return, we are so pleased with his run and look forward to the season ahead with him!
As we move deeper into October, we’re still patiently waiting for that much-needed rain to arrive. The ground remains dry and like many other yards, we’re eager for the softer ground to really get our winter horses out. In the meantime, clipping season is well and truly upon us, most of the horses are now in thick rugs and the yard certainly has that cosy autumn feeling!
This week, we’re looking forward to sending Almazhar Garde, Shan’t Wait and Realisation to Carlisle on Thursday. We have Midnight Jewel entered for Stratford on Saturday and Graecia, Rare Edition and Ikigai Star entered at Kempton on Sunday.
Away from the racing, last week we had a visit from Women in Racing where Tom Goffe took some incredible photos of the team. As you can see from the photos, Swindon Village (the grey) is clearly the yard poser!
