Cheltenham winner & Uttoxeter double!!

16 November 2020

It was a weekend of winners - and we hope the horses can continue running in this form!

The weekend kicked off with Castle Robin winning at the Condtional Jockeys' 2m5f Handicap hurdle on Friday the 13th! It wasn't an unlucky day for us! It is always nice to get a Cheltenham winner, with it being a local track and the home of national hunt racing! Castle Robin stayed on well up the Cheltenham hill to win by 1 1/2 lengths. Paul gave him a lovely ride, and it was great that we could give him his first Cheltenham winner! We are deleighted for The Bradley partnership. We also had Vivas running at Cheltenham on the Friday, he was making his debut in the cross country race ridden by Charlie Deutsch. He ran a superb race for his first time round those different fences, and he was the last off the bridle coming to the last! He ran his heart out, and enjoyed every minute, just getting a bit tired up the hill to come 5th. We cannot wait to see him next time out over those fences!

We also had Shah An Shah and Thinque Tank at Southwell on Friday, it was nice to support Southwell on their first day of racing back. Shah An Shah was making his fences debut, and is a fab jumper but looks to be too careful in places. Two horses fell in front of him at the 2nd and this really knocked his confidence, and took him a while to get back into a rhythm. He is a horse that needs everything to go right for him, and hopefully we can look to improve next time out. Thinque Tank had his final run before getting a mark to come 6th.

On Saturday we had a double at Uttoxeter! What About Time kicked off the day by winning the Maiden Hurdle by 5 1/2 lengths under Will Kennedy, and he really galloped through the line showing great attitude. He looks to be an exciting prospect, and there is still a share availble in the What About Time partnership! Please get in touch for more details. Will Kennedy also rode Just Your Type to victory in the 3m2f Handicap Chase who stayed on well to win by a short head! Teenage Dirtbag ran at Uttoxeter as well and was making his debut over hurdles. He jumped nicely, but is still very green and we need to get him concerntrating a bit more.

Saturday also saw Glimpse of Gala run in the Mares' Listed bumper at Cheltenham, where there was a dead heat for 1st place! She ran a very respectable race, against some of the best mares in the country to come 7th, but only finishing 7 lengths behind the 3rd placed horse. She is only small, but extremely tough especially on tiring ground.

Today we have Hoot At Midnight making her chasing debut and Saint Dalina making her seasonal debut at Leicester and tomorrow we have Tuff Times making his seasonal debut at Lingfield. That is providing Lingfield is on, there is an inspection at 2pm today due to standing water on the course.

We have entries this week for Do Wanna Know, Louse Talk, Snow Leopardess, Barton Rose, Westen Miller, Carlow Farmer, Nightfly and Ballydine.

I hope everyone has a great week, and we can continue to keep our horses in such good form.
