It feels like it's been a little while since our last catch-up, but there's been plenty going on behind the scenes here at the yard.
The summer break is slowly beginning to draw to a close for our winter horses, and it's always an exciting time of year as they gradually return to work. A number of them are now back in their stables with their shoes on and have started their steady trotting work, while others are making the most of their final week or two out in the fields before joining them.
We couldn't be happier with how they've all summered, they have come back looking fantastic, with plenty of them having grown and strengthened over the last few months, which is always great to see. It's rewarding to see them return in such good condition, ready to begin building towards the season ahead.
Before long, the physio visits and regular pre-season health checks will be getting underway too, making sure everyone is happy, healthy and ready for the work to increase over the coming weeks. It won't be long before the yard is back into its full normal routine!
While preparations continue at home, we still have runners to keep us busy.
Whatyouwaitingfor heads to Stratford tomorrow for the 2.15pm race, and we also have a few entries at Worcester and Uttoxeter next week. Hopefully one of them can get their head in front—it would be fantastic to get a winner and keep the momentum building.
