Another great Cheltenham November Meeting done for another year! We had two runners over the weekend:
Miss Applejack - for The Applejacks
She ran in the Mares’ Open National Hunt Flat Race on the Saturday – her biggest outing yet! Ridden professionally and cleverly by Sam Twiston-Davies, he tried his best to give her the better ground, taking her very wide on the back side of the course, but the very soft going wasn’t to her liking and she tailed off on the home straight. Nevertheless, she is a very exciting mare for the future as we plan to take her over hurdles next.
Guetapan Collonges - for Mr JP McManus
He ran in the Class 1 3m 3f Handicap Chase under Richie McLernon. Charlie and JP were pleased with his performance having been up there with the leaders throughout and he stayed on to go into third in the run in. A slightly longer trip will work in his favour on better ground. All in all, a very positive run from Guetapan which bodes well for his future. As the racing post says, he could even be a contender for the Grand National at some stage.
Congratulations to JP and well done to the team, especially Georgia who lead him up once again.
