23 February 2021
It is starting to feel like spring now - the sun is actually shining a little bit! I hope you all had a good weekend, we were fairly quiet with just one runner at Ascot. Saint Dalina ran in the 0-125 handicap hurdle, and came a creditable 3rd place in first time cheekpieces. She ran a fabulous race, and really put her heart on the line for Richard Johnson who gave her a fab ride.
Maninsane ran yesterday at Southwell, he was extremely unlucky and fell at the 5th hurdle. He didn't look as though he made a mistake, he just buckled on landing. It was a nasty fall and he is currently at the vets being treated.
No runners today, but a busy day tomorrow and Thursday. Three runners at Doncaster on Wednesday and one at Ludlow. Punctuation runs in the 1.45 Novices' Hurdle under Paul O'Brien, he will wear a ring bit and a sheepskin noseband this time to lower his head carriage and try and get him settled. Freethinker runs in the 2.55 Novices; Hurdle under Paul O'Brien and Shah An Shah runs in the 4.05 Handicap Hurdle under Aidan Coleman. Byzantium Lad, our recent recruit from Fred Hutsby who has come off the pointing circuit, runs in the Maiden Hurdle at Ludlow with Tom Buckley on board.
On Thursday we have Diger Daudaie at Chepstow, Tom Buckley rides. At Huntingdon we have Raven Court with Paul O'Brien on board and Guetapan Collonges with Will Kennedy taking the ride.
It looks as though we will have another quiet weekend with only Byzantium Lad entered at Hereford, but he runs on Wednesday instead.
We also had Barton Rose arrive back in the yard this morning, it is nice to have her back. Jamacho, our stable star last summer, arrived back on Sunday. They both look extremely well, and we are excited to get started with them again. Glimpse Of Gala is arriving back later in this week too!
All systems go here, I hope you have a good week.
