Heavy rain and thunderstorms last night woke most of us up at 1am this morning, it continues to be hot and we started early this morning to try and beat the worst of the heat. Paul O'Brien was in this morning to ride out. Jacobite Rising ran another bad race last night, that was his final chance and he has now been sold.
We have four declared to run tomorrow at Southwell where racing has been brought forward to earlier on in the day due to the high temperatures forecast. Barton Rose was unlucky at Worcester where she and Paul were carried out by a loose horse. Wilberdragon won last time out at Worcester, he has come out of that race well and should hopefully run another good race tomorrow. The penny has dropped with The Vollan this summer. He won over course and distance a month ago and ran well to finish second at Worcester. Lochinver is having his first run since a wind op, he seems very relaxed at home so we are trying him without the hood.
