I hope you all had a good weekend and managed to stay dry. It has been relentless rain here, and thankfully it looks like we have just had the last of it and it will stay dry for the bank holiday weekend. It is as though April showers have been a month late, but hopefully the horses on their summer holidays will be able to have their rugs off soon and soak up the sun in flaming June! The ground everywhere has been soft, which is not surprising, but unusual for this time of year. Do Wanna Know ran at Worcester on Friday evening to finish 3rd, we were happy with his performance and he is now out in the field enjoying the spring grass.  On Saturday evening Western Miller took to the stage at Stratford and ran nicely to come 2nd. He stayed on really well along the home straight, and it may be worth putting the blinkers on him next time out again, so he does not hit that flat spot before the home bend.

Annoyingly Jamacho got all the way down to the start at Ludlow yesterday for him then to be withdrawn. It appeared he was lame. He is fine this morning and looks as though it is just puss in the foot. The ground had gone soft anyway, which we knew would have been against us.

We have just had Calvario run at Southwell, making his stable debut for us. He was disappointing, and we will go back to the drawing board. He had been working very well at home with Roche on board.

A busy morning here today as we had the film crew into interview Charlie and film a new purchase. All will be revealed in due course. Luca Morgan was in to ride out yesterday, and Paul O’Brien was in this morning. It was also nice to see Tom Buckley made an appearance this morning for one lot. We have not seen him very much since he broke his shoulder back at Plumpton a month or so ago.

Midnight Jewel and Maxi Jazz are entered at Fontwell this weekend, and then Hoot At Midnight, Punctuation, Midnight Jewel and Train Hill all hold an entry at Huntingdon on bank holiday Monday.
