Lyrical Genius – Exeter 23rd February
3m6f in heavy ground was always going to be hard work, but Lyrical Genius and Lilly Pinchin put in a pleasing performance to finish 4th in a strong race. The winner, Mr Vango, took the lead from the start and revelled in that ground to win, but Lyrical (once again!) tried hard to stay on despite being hampered early on. He is a stayer that’s for sure!
Glimpse Of Gala – Chepstow 24th February
It was great to see Gala back on the racecourse again with Bradley Roberts on board after 8 weeks since her last run. She ran in the Pertemps handicap hurdle qualifier and finished a respectable 5th after rallying from the back of the field to stay on in the run-in. Unfortunately she missed out on qualifying by one place, but there are always silver linings to these outcomes and we will now aim for an alternative race with her.
Raise Your Glass – Hereford 24th February
This was Fizz’s first run for us having moved here in January. She and Lilly came back with smiles on their faces after a very pleasing run in the Junior NH hurdle race to finish 5th. She is Mark Dunphy’s (owner) first homebred so they were thrilled to see her travel and jump so well on only her second run over hurdles. She needs just one more run to get a handicap mark and then we can have some fun with her!
