Horses for Sale

RARE EDITION still maintains his unbeaten rules record!!

27 December 2022

Hopefully everyone ate their bodyweight in food (apart from the jockeys) and received all they wished for this Christmas! It is a very busy time for the National Hunt season, and an exciting time at that. Although, you must feel a little sorry for the jockeys doing a lightweight the following day! With multiple grade 1s and seven meetings on boxing day, it is hard to keep up with it all. However, we had an exciting Boxing Day with a winner at Kempton on King George Day!

Rare Edition put in an exceptional performance under Sam Twiston Davies at Kempton. It was a likeable display under a double penalty, and he saw off the challenge from the favourite in good style. We have always thought that Rare Edition was a nice horse, and if he was a very nice horse he had to win yesterday, which he did. It is thrilling to have a horse like this in the yard. Exciting times for Pay The Bill syndicate, we are delighted for them.

Rare Edition was not our only runner yesterday, we had five in total across three meetings. At Huntingdon we had a spout of seconditis! Largy Nights ran a cracking race and just got bumped around between the last two fences. However, he stayed on well and battled to the line to finish 2nd. What About Time also ran a much improved race, he seemed to relish the step up in trip and also finished a promising 2nd under Lilly Pinchin. If I Say was our final runner at Huntingdon and was making her fences debut. She ran a nice race but made a mistake where it counted, and it took it out of her. She however then stayed onto the line. The Mighty Arc took to the track at Wincanton under James Bowen. He never got into the race, and therefore set off on the back foot being under pressure from the get-go. As a result, he pulled up.

Glimpse Of Gala and Alien Storm run at Kempton today. Bradley Roberts and Paul O’Brien ride respectively. Haas Boy has been declared for Catterick on Wednesday with Brian Hughes, and Maninsane for Leicester with Lilly Pinchin on board. Thursday sees Ardbraccan and Stroll On By declared, again with Lilly Pinchin riding. Entries for Friday include Harjo and Potters Hedger at Haydock, with Catuaba and Moon King at Taunton. New Years Eve we have Almazhar, Potters Legend and Tea For Free entered at Newbury, Harjo and Well Dick at Uttoxeter, and Moon King with Potters Hedger at Warwick. On New Years Day Tommy Cullen and The Wise Traveller are entered at Catterick, and Hector Javilex with Miss Applejack are at Cheltenham. The following Monday is just Potters Legend entered in the Sussex National at Plumpton. As has been mentioned, like a broken record, there is lots of racing this period! It keeps everyone busy.

Enjoy the rest of the festive period all of you.
