We have two runners declared on Saturday. Train Hill has been declared at Uttoxeter with Kielan Woods on board. He should have improved for the run at Southwell, and with the addition of cheek pieces and a tongue strap, we are hoping he goes well. Present Storm makes her seasonal and chase debut at Hexham evening meeting with Brian Hughes on board. We then have no entries until Wednesday, where Éclair On Line is in at Fontwell. With just under 20 horses in currently, entries become sparser and the yard quieter. It is a bit different to the 60 we are used to during the height of the season.

The summer jobs are well and truly under way. The office is being painted, the stables pressure washed, white railings scrubbed, the feed room tidied and the strimming ongoing. As we write, Brogan is currently painting the office and producing quite the soundtrack, singing along with her headphones in! The horses are enjoying their holidays, and it is so nice to see them all led down. This means they are well and truly relaxed. Please do come and see your horses out in the sunshine.

The staff are also enjoying the quieter time and look to head off on their holidays. Jess and Lee have been enjoying a couple of weeks off. Bradley Roberts is looking forward to heading over to Gordon Elliot’s for the summer, and hopefully Brogan will be able to head off to Spain to ride out.

As Parramount heads home for his holidays today, he is swapped with 3yo Imperial Jade. If you can remember, Imperial Jade was one of the 2yo’s we had last summer to further their education. They were great fun, and now a year older, we cannot wait to get going with her. Queen Mandana (Snow Leopardess’ half-sister) and Red Panda (Snow Leopardess’ foal) will hopefully shortly follow and arrive in training this summer.

We look ahead to another bank holiday weekend! It was not long since the last one! However, we have no runners this time, and we are not a busy within the yard so will be a lot more relaxed. Let’s hope the sun comes out!
