Another week has flown by at Hull Farm, and while the mornings are certainly feeling cooler, we're keeping one eye firmly on the skies in the hope of seeing a bit more rain before the jumps season really kicks off.
The horses continue to thrive, and there is definitely a growing sense of excitement around the yard as the winter team edge ever closer to making their seasonal reappearances. The atmosphere changes at this time of year; rugs start appearing, work gradually steps up, and all we ever seem to talk about is the weather!!
We have two entries this weekend with our eleven-time winner Midnight Jewel, who is set to head to Fontwell on Saturday and on Sunday Freshers Week is entered at Uttoxeter.
Away from the racecourse, life in the yard has been ticking along nicely. The horses have started doing plenty of jumping in preparation of the season ahead and everyone is starting to talk about their horse to follow for season 26/27.
The team enjoyed a fabulous party on Saturday all thanks to Jullou De Grissay and The Galloping Dentist at 45 Green, Katie and Tim put on a fantastic winning party and it was brilliant to see the team all enjoying themselves.
One of the best things about this time of year is seeing the horse’s different personalities shine through. Some horses bounce out every morning convinced they are heading for the Cheltenham Gold Cup, while others require a little more persuasion before deciding work is actually a good idea. Fortunately, they all keep us entertained in their own way.
