29 December 2020

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, and I wish you all a Happy New Year! Hopefully some kind of normality will resume in 2021, once we get over another lockdown! I am so grateful to my team who have worked all over the Christmas period, and got the job done. Yesterday we had a bit of snow, and it definielty felt Christmassy, albeit a few days late! It is very cold here now, a change from the previous mild week we have had.

Boxing day saw us only have 2 runners, Guetapan Collonges at Wincaton and Snow Leopardess in the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby, Grade 3. Snow Leopardess ran a fabulous race with Jonjo O'Neill jnr on board. She really battled it out the line, and ran her heart out to come 2nd by 3/4 of a length. We are deleighted with her. She will now go home for a short break, along with her half brother Parramount. Parramount ran a great race on the Sunday at Wetherby to come 2nd. The winner looked to have bolted up, and Parramount still looked a little weak. He will really benefit from the break and will come back in a lot stronger no doubt. He is a big horse and has taken his time to grow into himself. Maninsane also ran at Wetherby on the Sunday to come 3rd in a nice novice hurdle, and we were pleased with how he ran. He had been off the track for 88 days, and got a little tired on the run in. Monday saw Stormy Milan and Teenage Dirtbag at Catterick, Stormy Milan ran with an improved round of jumping however they both pulled up.

Today we have Freethinker at Newbury, he has a hood on for the first time to try and settle him and not run so keen. No runners on Wednesday, but Shah An Shah at Warwick on Thursday with Aidan Coleman on board. We potentially have runners at Ayr on Saturday, Carlow Farmer, Almazhar Garde and Illegal Model hold entries, and then Do Wanna Know, Louse Talk and Thinque Tank are all entered at Catterick on Sunday.

I hope everyone has a great week, and a happy new year. It is that period between Christmas and New Year when no one seems to know what day of the week it is, and we are all still snacking on our Christmas food!
