Mexico put in a gutsy performance to battle it out all the way to the the line and win the novice hurdle at Newcastle under Brian Hughes. He was bought out of Colin Bowe's yard following a win in an Irish P2P at the end of last year, so this was his first run for us. He showed a great attitude, and as the racing post says he is a very 'gamely' horse!
Well done to his owner Mrs Fitri Hay and the winning connections, including Lauren Hay who often rides him at home.
