31 March 2021

Happy horses in the field and bright sunshine, what more could you want? We are loving the weather and are trying to make the most of it before the supposed snow at the weekend. British weather! However, it does mean that the ground has been rapidly drying out and that is why I have chosen not to declare Rivarros, Carlow Farmer and Thinque Tank on Thursday at Uttoxeter or Wetherby. Lisdoonvarna Lad was declared to run at Uttoxeter, however he has had a minor setback and is now a non-runner. Midnight Jewel is set to make his yard debut at Southwell today, Tom Buckley rides in the 4.20 Handicap Hurdle.

Our young horses have had a few away days at Lambourn to further their education and do some fast work. Haas Boy and The Wise Traveller went yesterday morning and we were impressed with them both. It will be exciting to see them on the racecourse soon. High Yield and No No Tango will be heading there later in the week. Glencassley and Nightline went today.

Haas Boy is still looking for an owner. He is a lovely unspoilt 4 year old gelding by Diamond Boy, and it will be great to be able to watch him grow and mature through his journey. He is an exciting prospect who we think a lot of. Please get in touch if you would like some more details.

Teenage Dirtbag and Bold Pimpernel both ran at sunny Warwick yesterday. After a slow start for Teenage Dirtbag he creeped away out the back, and after a persistent ride from Tom Buckley he finished a fabulous 2nd. There was much improvement, and he is slowly starting to get the hang of racing. We need to master the start next time! Bold Pimpernel was dissapointing again, and he is now retired from racing.

No runners on Thursday and Friday, but entries for Carlisle and Newton Abbot on Saturday with Western Miller, Do Wanna Know and Thinque Tank. Sunday has no entries, and Easter Monday has entries at Chepstow for Almazhar Garde, Western Miller and Raven Court. Hoot At Midnight is entered at Plumpton.

We have sent out our monthly newsletter this morning, so please click the link to have a read - https://mailchi.mp/63af1711d946/charlie-longsdon-march-newsletter-5333164

I hope you all enjoy the lovely sunshine this week.
