This week we are experiencing a quieter week than usual as it is typically a busy schedule with racing. Due to the break in the racing calendar, we are embracing the quiet, but we have had some new staff to the yard too. We have welcomed Isobel to the yard who is a new travelling member to work alongside Jess as well as Megan who is a new Stable Staff member. They are both great additions to our team here at Hull Farm!
Today is Wednesday, which is our vet day in the yard, during this time we focus our attention to the winter jumpers returning having their start of season checks to ensure all the horses are in peak condition.
Harry Longsdon went pony racing to Southwell on Monday, Tiny Dancer ran a great race and Harry gave her a great ride to finish 6th in a competitive race. We are pleased with them both and this morning Harry was back riding out his usual 3 lots during his summer holidays!
The weather has finally picked up for us here in Chipping Norton, we have had some great days of sunshine and heat! Although there is a break in racing, we have been stepping up the work of some of the better ground horses. Miss Applejack, The Dark Edge and Alien Storm have started with some more work! Captain’s Road, Largy Valley and Harjo all had there first canters this week too which is exciting!
