It feels like a long time since we last caught up with you all, so we thought the New Year was the perfect moment to reflect on what has been a fantastic festive period here at the yard.
Christmas itself was a fantastic day for the team. Once the horses were done and settled, it was so lovely to see the whole team head off to spend time with their families. Everyone returned refreshed, smiling, and full of energy, which makes all the difference at this busy time of year.
On the track, we’ve had plenty to cheer about over the festive period, we’ve been incredibly proud of the way the horses have been running, with numerous placings and performances full of promise.
Sign Again ran another solid race to finish third, Graecia put in a phenomenal effort when stepping up significantly in grade at Newbury, finishing an excellent second in what was a big test for her, one she passed with flying colours by the way! Bugise Seagull showed that he’s right back to his old self, running great to finish second, and it was pleasing to see him return to that level of form.
We were also delighted with our 3-year-old, Pippins Legend, who ran a superb race to finish third on his very first start over hurdles. He’s a horse we’ve always liked, and that debut gave us plenty to look forward to as he gains experience.
Of course, it wouldn’t be National Hunt Racing without a few challenges along the way. We’re currently facing close to five days of freezing temperatures, which always brings concerns about ground conditions. Many of our horses would happily swap five days of frost for five days of rain. That said, we’ll remain patient, put the horses first, and take each day as it comes.
As we head into the New Year, spirits remain high, on New Year’s Day, we’ll be heading to Cheltenham with New Order, and we’re very much looking forward to starting 2026 on such a fantastic stage.
We wish you all a very happy, healthy New Year and here’s hoping there are plenty of winners to celebrate in the months ahead.
